Deaths in a nursing home are always natural, right?
An old man dying in a nursing home shouldn’t cause a riot among his fellow residents. But it does—they don’t believe he died from natural causes. Benedicte, the new student helper, doesn’t know what to make of it. None of her coworkers seem alarmed, and the police are not called in, but Benedicte is worried. Worried enough to involve one of the residents’ grandchildren, the handsome Steffen. Together they try to find out if the old man was indeed murdered as the residents insist—hopefully before anything else happens.
This novella is part of the Halsted Mystery series—classic whodunit murder mysteries set in a small Danish town. If you like a mix of mystery, romance and plot twists with an amateur sleuth trying to make sense of it all, you’ll love this series.
Timewise, this novella takes place before Photos Don’t Lie, but as all the installments in the series, it is a standalone that can be read anytime—anywhere.
